Brandon Shewbert: Lead Guitar
I grew up in a Christian home and prayed the sinners prayer when I was 4 years old. So pretty much my whole life I've been trying to come to grips with what it means to be a Chrisitian in this world. I'd like to say I have it all figured out but that would be a falicy. Like anyone else I've had many times of doubt, disbelief and flat out rebellion in my relationship with God. However, even through those times I believe he has sustained my faith in him and I have grown in faith and love because of those difficult times. I never even really believed I would be in bands or anything like that growing up.
I just really liked to play the guitar and thought maybe one day I would record a couple of small demos or something just for myself. When I turned 21 I joined my first Christian band on somewhat of a lark. I believe that God put me in a situation where I was going to be in a band despite my lack of faith that I would ever do so. Three bands and five years later I am now in Overkast and I know God is revealing himself to the world through my gifts and abilities. This is something I also don't understand or deserve but I'm trying to follow his lead the best I can day by day.
