OverKast: To over cloud, darken, or make gloomy: Ominous clouds began to overcast the sky This is how we feel in life, Christian or not. Some days it may seem like all hope is lost and maybe we should not even get out of bed. Just living can be a hard thing for anyone in the world. The clouds do roll in and things can get dark. The goal and passion set out for this band is to be a light in the dark places of life. We are here to show the light and love of Christ. We are not here to judge, look down upon or tell others how bad they are and how they should live. We are here simply to "Love". The idea and vision of OverKast was placed in Rob’s heart and mind in late 2006. Chris was led to the project shortly after the 1st ad was placed looking for musicians.
After 7 months of playing shows the band relocated to the general Seattle area. After parting ways with the old members Rob & Chris began the search to establish the band once more. Ad's were placed and many were talked to but in the end, Mark was the bass player that was a perfect fit. We are in this only to change people's eternities and give strength to the faith of those already serving. We have found a peace in life and we wish only to share that forgivness and hope with any who will hear. We all can share in the same promise.
It was once said that Passion breeds followers, who better of an example than one of our own, Jesus Christ, and he will guide the words and actions of this project. We are all in this together as one & we are no better than anyone else in any way. Being christian does not mean we are in a members only club or that we are have higher status than anyone else, we simply have a source of power to go to that teaches us and helps us through. We believe that no matter how dark things may seem, or how little money or popularity you may have, no matter how different you may be or how far down you may seem, Hope Always Remains!
